Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

ILR Impact Brief - Deconstructing Absenteeism: Satisfaction, Commitment, and Unemployment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
[Excerpt] Group attitudes about satisfaction and commitment are negatively associated with absenteeism and interact in predicting absenteeism at the unit level.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Infeasibility Cutting Plane for Unit Commitment Problem

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
This paper introduces a new type of cutting plane for the unit commitment (UC) problem, namely “infeasibility cutting plane”. The infeasibility cutting plane refers to a type of logic constraint that eliminates the combination of integer ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Flexible Robust Risk-Constrained Unit Commitment of Power System Incorporating Large Scale Wind Generation and Energy Storage

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
With the increasing penetration of wind power in the power systems, the uncertainties in wind power significantly challenge the reliable and economic operation of power systems.

Multistage Stochastic Unit Commitment Using Stochastic Dual Dynamic Integer Programming

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2019
Unit commitment (UC) is a key operational problem in power systems for the optimal schedule of daily generation commitment. Incorporating uncertainty in this already difficult mixed-integer optimization problem introduces significant computational ...

Unit Commitment Comprehensive Optimal Model Considering the Cost of Wind Power Curtailment and Deep Peak Regulation of Thermal Unit

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Clean renewable energy is given high priority to generate power in power system dispatching. Unfortunately, the objective to minimize wind power curtailment may results in additional costs, since the inverse peak regulation characteristic of wind power ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
