Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

A physics-informed frequency security constrained unit commitment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
With the significant growth in renewable energy integration, system inertia has substantially decreased, necessitating the incorporation of frequency security constraints into the conventional unit commitment (UC) problem.

Unit Commitment Considering Interruptible Load for Power System Operation with Wind Power

open access: yesEnergies, 2014
A high wind-power penetration level causes increased uncertainty in power system operation because of the variability and limited predictability of wind generation. This paper proposes a novel type of unit commitment (UC) considering spinning reserve and

Optimisasi Unit Commitment Mempertimbangkan Fungsi Biaya Tidak Mulus Dengan Firefly Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Setiap unit pembangkit yang beroperasi untuk memenuhi permintaan beban mempunyai jadwal operasi yang berbeda-beda. Hal ini disebabkan oleh perbedaan karakteristik input-output yang khas dari setiap unit.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Physics-Informed Unit Commitment Framework for Nuclear Reactors

open access: yesIEEE Access
Nuclear reactors are often modeled as inflexible baseload generators with fixed downtimes and restrictive ramping limits. In practice, however, operational flexibility for a reactor is coupled with its fuel-cycle.

The summed start-up costs in a unit commitment problem

open access: yesEURO Journal on Computational Optimization, 2017
We consider the sum of the incurred start-up costs of a single unit in a Unit Commitment problem. Our major result is a correspondence between the facets of its epigraph and some binary trees for concave start-up cost functions CU, which is bijective if ...

ILR Impact Brief - Employee Attributions about HR Practices Lead to Customer Satisfaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
[Excerpt] The perceived reasons why management chooses a set of HR practices are linked to employee satisfaction, commitment, and on-the-job behavior. Employees individually make their own attributions about the purposes behind the practices, which are ...
