GROUP ALGEBRAS WHOSE UNIT GROUP IS LOCALLY NILPOTENT
We present a complete list of groups$G$and fields$F$for which: (i) the group of normalized units$V(FG)$of the group algebra$FG$is locally nilpotent; (ii) the set of nontrivial nilpotent elements of$FG$is finite and nonempty, and$V(FG)$is an Engel group.

Unit group of integral group ring
Presenting an explicit descryption of unit group in the integral group ring of a given non-abelian group is a classical and open problem. Let S3C3ℤ(S3×C3)(F55⋊F3)⋊(S3∗×C2)Fρρℤ(S3×C3)S3RS3R=ℤ[ω]ωℤ(G×C3)GV(G)GU(ℤ(G×C3))

Cohomology in Abstract Unit Groups [PDF]
A. H. Clifford and S. MacLane [2] considered in 1941 the group of factor-sets H2(F, U) of a finite group F over its abstract unit group U. They proved the main theorem to the effect that H2(F, U) is isomorphic to the multiplicator M of F defined by I. Schur and also several other theorems under the assumption that F is a solvable group.

Group identities on symmetric units
The group algebra \(FG\) of a group \(G\) over a field \(F\) is naturally endowed with an involution *, i.e., the \(F\)-linear extension of the involution on \(G\) given by \(g\mapsto g^{-1}\). The latter is called the classical involution and has received substantial interest. Of course, there are obvious more general involutions of \(FG\), namely the

Unit Groups of Cyclic Extensions [PDF]
LetΩbe an algebraic number field of finite degree, which we fix once for all, and letKbe a cyclic extension overΩsuch that the degree ofK/Ωis a powerof a prime numberl. It is obvious that the norm groupNK/ΩeKof the unit group ekofK, being a subgroup of the unit group e of Ω contains the groupconsisting of all-th powersof ε∈e.
