A Construction for the Normalizer of a Ring With Local Unit With Applications to the Theory of L-Algebras [PDF]

open access: bronzeTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1960
Introduction. The purpose of this paper is to extend some of the author's results [4; 51 about F-rings to a wider class of lattice ordered rings called generalized F-rings. A generalized F-ring or GFR is a partially ordered real algebra R which forms a a-complete vector lattice with respect to addition, scalar multiplication, and order, and for which ...

Density functional theory study of the optical and electronic properties of oligomers based on phenyl-ethynyl units linked to triazole, thiadiazole, and oxadiazole rings to be used in molecular electronics

open access: closedThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2010
In the present work, we have studied from a theoretical perspective the geometry and electronic properties of the series of related compounds 2,5-bis(phenylethynyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole, 2,5-bis(phenylethynyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole, and 2,5-bis(phenylethynyl)-1,2,4-triazole as candidates for electron-conducting polymers and compounds with desirable (opto ...

Angular distribution of units in abelian group rings - an application to Galois-module theory.

open access: closedJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 1987
A Dirichlet series is introduced the study of whose singularities describes the distribution in space of units in abelian group rings. It shows that they cluster more densely in some regions than others. This is used to give quantitative information on the distribution of normal integral bases in tame abelian extensions of \(\mathbb Q\).

Stabilizing a metalloid {Zn12} unit within a polymetallide environment in [K2Zn20Bi16]6−

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
The access to molecules comprising direct Zn–Zn bonds has become very topical in recent years for various reasons. Low-valent organozinc compounds show remarkable reactivities, and larger Zn–Zn-bonded gas-phase species exhibit a very unusual coexistence ...

A Multiband Antenna Stacked with Novel Metamaterial SCSRR and CSSRR for WiMAX/WLAN Applications

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
This paper presents an innovative method for the design of a triple band meta-mode antenna. This unique design of antenna finds application in a particular frequency band of WLAN and WiMAX.

Crystal structure, Hirshfeld surface analysis and density functional theory study of benzyl 2-oxo-1-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)-1,2-dihydroquinoline-4-carboxylate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2021
The title molecule, C20H15NO3, adopts a Z-shaped conformation with the carboxyl group nearly coplanar with the dihydroquinoline unit. In the crystal, corrugated layers are formed by C—H...O hydrogen bonds and are stacked by C—H...π(ring) interactions ...

Broadband graphene-based metamaterial absorbers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
In this paper, a new type of broadband tunable metamaterial absorber is proposed. The structure consists of a single-layer ring graphene and a metal ground plane separated by a dielectric spacer.
