The title compound, C23H15NO3, adopts an s-cis conformation with respect to the ethylene C=C and carbonyl C=O double bonds in the enone unit. The molecule is significantly twisted with a dihedral angle of 48.63 (14)° between the anthracene ring system ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In this work, we study the light absorption properties of different novel molecules based on benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene (BDT), namely, BT-2F, BTRCl, and BTTzR, which hold great promise as electron-donor materials in organic solar cells.

Lifting defects for nonstable K_0-theory of exchange rings and C*-algebras
The assignment (nonstable K_0-theory), that to a ring R associates the monoid V(R) of Murray-von Neumann equivalence classes of idempotent infinite matrices with only finitely nonzero entries over R, extends naturally to a functor. We prove the following

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

The title compound, C32H28F2N2O2, a highly functionalized tetrahydropyridine, was synthesized by a one-pot multi-component reaction of 4-fluoroaniline, ethyl acetoacetate and benzaldehyde at room temperature using sodium lauryl sulfate as a catalyst. The

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Dual-Band Diffusive Metasurface-Based Reflector With Low Out-of-Band Backscattering
This article describes a dual-band diffusive metasurface-based reflector, with a specular reflection band together with two sidebands which exhibit low radar cross-section (RCS).

Partial normalizations of coxeter arrangements and discriminants [PDF]
We study natural partial normalization spaces of Coxeter arrangements and discriminants and relate their geometry to representation theory. The underlying ring structures arise from Dubrovin’s Frobenius manifold structure which is lifted (without unit)

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
