Broadband graphene-based metamaterial absorbers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
In this paper, a new type of broadband tunable metamaterial absorber is proposed. The structure consists of a single-layer ring graphene and a metal ground plane separated by a dielectric spacer.

Crystal structure, Hirshfeld surface analysis and density functional theory study of benzyl 2-oxo-1-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)-1,2-dihydroquinoline-4-carboxylate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2021
The title molecule, C20H15NO3, adopts a Z-shaped conformation with the carboxyl group nearly coplanar with the dihydroquinoline unit. In the crystal, corrugated layers are formed by C—H...O hydrogen bonds and are stacked by C—H...π(ring) interactions ...

A uniqueness theorem for stable homotopy theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper we study the global structure of the stable homotopy theory of spectra. We establish criteria for when the homotopy theory associated to a given stable model category agrees with the classical stable homotopy theory of spectra.

8-(Pyridin-2-yl)quinolin-7-ol as a Platform for Conjugated Proton Cranes: A DFT Structural Design

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
Theoretical design of conjugated proton cranes, based on 7-hydroxyquinoline as a tautomeric sub-unit, has been attempted by using ground and excited state density functional theory (DFT) calculations in various environments.

Refractive Index Sensor Based on Fano Resonances in Metal-Insulator-Metal Waveguides Coupled with Resonators

open access: yesSensors, 2017
A surface plasmon polariton refractive index sensor based on Fano resonances in metal–insulator–metal (MIM) waveguides coupled with rectangular and ring resonators is proposed and numerically investigated using a finite element method.

Optimization of configurations of atomic species on two-dimensional hexagonal lattices for copper-based systems

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
We explore the stable configurations of atomic species on a hexagonal plane in two-dimensional (2D) binary systems. We investigate configurations for 9 and 16 atomic sites in the unit cell (3 × 3 and 4 × 4 supercells) by using the density-functional ...

On the identity of the last known stable radical in X-irradiated sucrose [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Identification of radiation-induced radicals in relatively simple molecules is a prerequisite for the understanding of reaction pathways of the radiation chemistry of complex systems.

Isolation enhancement of 5G multiple‐input multiple‐output microstrip patch antenna using metamaterials and the theory of characteristic modes

open access: yesInternational journal of RF and microwave computer-aided engineering, 2020
This paper presents a compact 5G multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) microstrip antenna with isolation enhancement based on a slotted complementary split‐ring resonator (SCSRR) and the theory of characteristic modes (TCMs).

Constraint of a ruthenium-carbon triple bond to a five-membered ring

open access: yesScience Advances, 2018
The first incorporation of a second-row transition metal carbyne unit into a ring is realized by virtue of aromaticity. The incorporation of a metal-carbon triple bond into a ring system is challenging because of the linear nature of triple bonds.
