On Unitary Equivalence of Representations of C ∗ -Algebras [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1979
Assuming the continuum hypothesis, there are inequivalent irreducible representations of B ( H ) \mathcal {B}(\mathcal {H}) that are pointwise equivalent.

Updatable Closed‐Form Evaluation of Arbitrarily Complex Multiport Network Connections

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The inverse design of electrically large wave devices often uses reduced‐order multiport models with discrete optimization, requiring many evaluations of complex interconnections between subsystems that differ only in a few blocks. This paper introduces a closed‐form framework enabling efficient Woodbury low‐rank updates of related, previous ...

On a Simple Relation between Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau and Tzou Algebras

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2018
A simple link between βμ matrices of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau theory and ρμ matrices of Tzou representations is constructed. The link consists of a constant unitary transformation of the βμ matrices and a projection onto a lower-dimensional subspace.

Weil Representations of Unitary Groups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1999
It is well known that the finite unitary group \(\text{U}_n(q)\), where \(q\) is a positive integral power of a prime \(p\), has a complex representation of degree \(q^n\). This representation may be normalized so that it has determinant \(1\) on each group element.

Fundamental Challenges, Physical Implementations, and Integration Strategies for Ising Machines in Large‐Scale Optimization Tasks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Ising machines are emerging as specialized hardware solvers for computationally hard optimization problems. This review examines five major platforms—digital CMOS, analog CMOS, emerging devices, coherent optics, and quantum systems—highlighting physics‐rooted advantages and shared bottlenecks in scalability and connectivity.

Low‐Power Control Of Resistance Switching Transitions in First‐Order Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Joule losses are a serious concern in modern integrated circuit design. In this regard, minimizing the energy necessary for programming memristors should be handled with care. This manuscript presents an optimal control framework, allowing to derive energy‐efficient programming voltage protocols for resistance switching devices. Following this approach,

The Burau representation is unitary [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1984
A slight modification of the Burau representation of the braid group is shown to be unitary relative to an explicitly defined Hermitian form. This gives a partial answer to the problem of identifying the image of the Burau representation and provides a tool for attacking the question of whether or not the Burau representation is faithful.

Consumer Preferences for Craft Beer: The Interplay of Localness and Advertising Language

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explores the influence of the language of the label, origin of production, and origin of brewing ingredients on Croatian consumers' preferences and willingness to pay for organic craft beer. Employing an online survey and a choice experiment among 223 Croatian alcohol consumers, we find that while there's a willingness to pay a ...

Ambitwistors, oscillators and massless fields on AdS5

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2016
Positive energy unitary irreducible representations of SU(2,2) can be constructed with the aid of bosonic oscillators in (anti)fundamental representation of SU(2)L×SU(2)R that are closely related to Penrose twistors.

The Open‐Source Paradox: Africa's Digital Sovereignty and the Structural Limits of Artificial Intelligence Autonomy

open access: yesAI &Innovation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Open‐source artificial intelligence is widely promoted as a democratising pathway to digital sovereignty for African states, offering access to frontier architectures without prohibitive capital investment. This paper investigates whether open‐source AI represents a credible route to autonomy or generates a new form of structural dependency ...
