Direct high-precision measurement of the magnetic moment of the proton

open access: yes, 2014
The spin-magnetic moment of the proton $\mu_p$ is a fundamental property of this particle. So far $\mu_p$ has only been measured indirectly, analysing the spectrum of an atomic hydrogen maser in a magnetic field. Here, we report the direct high-precision

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

On a Desert Island with Unit Sticks, Continued Fractions and Lagrange

open access: yesNumeracy, 2016
GLY 4866, Computational Geology, provides an opportunity, welcomed by our faculty, to teach quantitative literacy to geology majors at USF. The course continues to evolve although the second author has been teaching it for some 20 years.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

An Increase in Estimation Accuracy Position Determination of Inertial Measurement Units

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
This paper deals with an increase in measurement accuracy of the Inertial Measurement Units (IMU). In the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) a fusion of gyroscopes, accelerometers and in some cases magnetometers are typically used.

NMR spectroscopy of hydrogen deuteride and magnetic moments of deuteron and triton

open access: yes, 2003
Magnetic moments of free and bound deuteron and triton are considered and new results for their magnetic moments (in units of that of the proton) and their g factors are presented.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Weighted Geometric Dilution of Precision Calculations with Matrix Multiplication

open access: yesSensors, 2015
To enhance the performance of location estimation in wireless positioning systems, the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) is widely used as a criterion for selecting measurement units.

Hardware math for the 6502 microprocessor [PDF]

open access: yes
A floating-point arithmetic unit is described which is being used in the Ground Facility of Large Space Structures Control Verification (GF/LSSCV). The experiment uses two complete inertial measurement units and a set of three gimbal torquers in a closed
