Küreselleşme ve Din

open access: yesDini Araştırmalar, 2015
In one aspect globalization is a usual process. In this aspect religion is an opposing state against globalization process. On the other hand, religion, being for whole humanity promotes globalization. Religion, claiming to be universal, tends to use the

Universal Function Approximation Through Over-the-Air Computing: A Deep Learning Approach

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Over-the-air (OTA) computing has emerged as a promising technique that utilizes the superposition property of the wireless multiple access channel (MAC) as a means for computation.

A universal energy distribution function for repeating fast radio bursts?

open access: yes, 2016
Assuming: fast radio bursts (FRBs) are produced by neutron stars at cosmological distances; FRB rate tracks core-collapse supernova rate; and all FRBs repeat with a universal energy distribution function (EDF) dN/dE ~ E^(-beta) with a high-end cutoff at ...

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Corrigendum to Fast AES-Based Universal Hash Functions and MACs

open access: yesIACR Transactions on Symmetric Cryptology
In ToSC 2024(2), Bariant et al. proposed a new framework for designing efficient AES-based Universal Hash Functions (UHFs) and Message Authentification Codes (MACs).

Persistence Probabilities of the German DAX and Shanghai Index

open access: yes, 2005
We present a relatively detailed analysis of the persistence probability distributions in financial dynamics. Compared with the auto-correlation function, the persistence probability distributions describe dynamic correlations non-local in time ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Universal point spread function engineering for 3D optical information processing

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications
Point spread function (PSF) engineering has been pivotal in the remarkable progress made in high-resolution imaging in the last decades. However, the diversity in PSF structures attainable through existing engineering methods is limited.

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...
