Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

The universal valuation of Coxeter matroids

open access: yes, 2021
Coxeter matroids generalize matroids just as flag varieties of Lie groups generalize Grassmannians. Valuations of Coxeter matroids are functions that behave well with respect to subdivisions of a Coxeter matroid into smaller ones.

A Perspective on Interactive Theorem Provers in Physics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Into an interactive theorem provers (ITPs), one can write mathematical definitions, theorems and proofs, and the correctness of those results is automatically checked. This perspective goes over the best usage of ITPs within physics and motivates the open‐source community run project PhysLean, the aim of which is to be a library for digitalized physics

New approach in form cutter profiling [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук, 2016
The universal algorithm, independent of geometric parameters of detail and required cutter type, becomes relevant within using modern computing means. Following this argument the universal mathematical model, which generalizes formerly known approaches ...

Assessing the Radio Access Technologies Impact on the Universal Access Index

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
On all continents, assessing efforts to make information and communication technologies available throughout a territory has become a necessity. As part of universal access and service, this paper aims at assessing the impact of radio access technologies

From Pores to Pavement: Advanced Modeling of Aluminosilicates for Scalable Carbon Capture in Concrete

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a transferable modeling framework for carbon capture using aluminosilicates, integrating Universal Isotherm Modeling with experimental data. It reveals how ultramicropores, alumina content, and amine functionalization influence CO2 adsorption energetics.

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Endoplasmic Reticulum Geometry Dictates Neuronal Bursting via Calcium Store Refill Rates and Exposes Selective Neuronal Vulnerability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ER's continuous tubular network is maintained by ER‐shaping proteins whose mutation or dysregulation contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we show that ER morphology sets the speed of Ca2+ store replenishment between firing events. Disrupting ER continuity slows intra‐ER Ca2+ redistribution from extracellular refill (SOCE) sites, driving

Traction Force Microscopy for Viscoelastic Substrates: A Semi‐Analytical Method

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A semi‐analytical viscoelastic traction force microscopy framework is introduced for quantifying time‐resolved cell tractions on flat finite‐thickness substrates. The method generalizes elastic traction force microscopy to Generalized Maxwell materials, identifies when elastic approximations remain valid and, when they do not, shows that inferred ...

The mathematical nature of the universe and consciousness: the universe is a collection of self-driven mathematical entities; consciousness is the use of mathematical models by a Turing machine

open access: yes, 2021
Humans are limited in what they know by the technical limitation of their cortical language network. A reality is a situation model. The universe is a collection of self-driven mathematical entities. If we are happy to accept randomness, it’s obviously possible that all other so-called “worlds” in the many-worlds interpretation don’t exist objectively.
