Why Physics Still Matters: Improving Machine Learning Prediction of Material Properties With Phonon‐Informed Datasets

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Phonons‐informed machine‐learning predictive models are propitious for reproducing thermal effects in computational materials science studies. Machine learning (ML) methods have become powerful tools for predicting material properties with near first‐principles accuracy and vastly reduced computational cost.

Patient‐Derived Fibroblasts as a Clinically Relevant Model of Kearns–Sayre Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Kearns–Sayre syndrome (KSS) is characterized by single large‐scale mitochondrial DNA deletions and by severe early‐onset clinical manifestations with neurological involvement. Reliable disease models, as well as validated biomarkers or effective treatments, are lacking.

Konstruktion hochselektiver Bindungstaschen in UiO‐Typ‐MOFs mittels verbrückter Linker

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Formation of Highly Selective Binding Pockets in UiO‐Type MOFs From Bridged Linkers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Much room for design: We present a generalizable strategy for precisely modifying UiO‐type Metal‐organic frameworks with functional groups in a site‐specific manner. Through the use of pre‐connected linkers, pocket‐like pores for molecular recognition are generated.

La Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

open access: yes
Information and communication technologies allow the University to cover the new requirements from society. This paper shows the answers the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) is providing to these new needs through the bimodal model. This model takes advantage of both the attendance and distance education in a flexible way.
