Inclusive Pedagogy at University: Faculty Members’ Motivations

open access: yesSustainability
The presence of students with disabilities in Higher Education (HE) is increasing. However, the permanence and success of these students at university is not granted. In this study, the voices of 119 faculty members from 10 Spanish universities who had been identified by their students with disabilities as inclusive were heard.

Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...

Careless Universities and a Pedagogy of Care

open access: yesJournal of Sociology
If a pedagogy of care is to care about students’ learning, academics often bridge the gap between students’ multiple expectations of tertiary education and institutional demands. The article explores how tertiary funding distributions result in narrowing higher education's potential through subject and staff loss.

Surface‐Spin‐Induced Magnetic Loss Enhancement in Ultralight Electromagnetic Absorbers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fe3O4 nanoparticles with different hollow rates were synthesized to demonstrate the key role of surface moment in magnetic loss process. Using the same volume filling ratio, the 54.1% hollow Fe3O4 absorber represents about 20% enhancement in the imaginary part (μ'') than solid particles due to the coexisting magnetic resonance of inside and outside ...

Computationally Evidence‐Grounded Sequence‐First Design of Peptide Binders

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BOND‐PEP enables controllable, sequence‐first peptide binder design by grounding generation in binding evidence retrieved for each target. It uses topology‐conditioned message passing to integrate relevant peptide examples with the target protein sequence, forming a residue‐level representation that guides the generation of diverse, target‐specific ...

A Site‐Aware Representation Learning Framework For Unified Molecular Interaction Modeling and Generative Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MolDBG is a site‐aware, sequence‐only framework that unifies drug‐target affinity prediction, binding‐site identification, and affinity‐conditioned molecular generation for structured proteins. Guided by multi‐task binding‐site supervision, it aligns interaction‐critical residues before learning drug‐target representations and simultaneously infers ...
