Thermally Regulated Methanol Selectivity in Photo‐Thermo Methane Oxidation Through Interfacial Methyl Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photo‐thermo cascade catalysis enables highly selective methane‐to‐methanol conversion over Au‐ZnO, achieving a CH3OH production rate of ∼800 µmol h−1 with 86% selectivity. Thermal activation gates the transfer of methane‐derived methyl intermediates from ZnO to Au, thereby redirecting the reaction pathway toward methanol formation. ABSTRACT The direct

The Potential of Zero Charge: An Interfacial Descriptor Governing Hydrogen Evolution Reaction on Bulk Metal Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work establishes a dual‐descriptor framework incorporating hydrogen adsorption free energy and potential of zero charge, constructing a corrected 3D HER volcano plot. It reveals that surface charge and interfacial proton concentration jointly govern activity, beyond conventional 2D thermodynamic scaling relations. ABSTRACT While the Sabatier‐based

From Materials to Systems: Challenges and Solutions for Fast‐Charge/Discharge Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically analyzes the key characteristics limiting the fast‐charge/discharge capability of Na‐ion batteries (SIBs) from a multi‐scale perspective encompassing electrode materials, the electrode‐electrolyte interface, and the system. Furthermore, it presents practical solution strategies for the fundamental issues arising at each scale,

Multifunctional Matrix‐Activated Electrodes Enabling Efficient Proton Transport and Durable Low‐Pt Operation for High‐Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a CeHP‐enabled multifunctional matrix‐activated electrode (MME) for high‐temperature PEM fuel cells, forming an electrochemically and mechanically functional matrix within the catalyst layer. The design increases peak power density by 38% and reduces voltage decay by 62% at 240 °C, while using only 40% of the Pt loading of a ...

Water‐Mediated Proton Facilitation for Stable Acidic CO2 Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Proton‐mitigating Cu─O─Ce sites accelerate *CO formation and PCET‐mediated *CO─*CHO coupling, enabling efficient multicarbon production at relatively low current density. Maintaining a retentive acidic pH suppresses parasitic hydrogen evolution and preserves in situ CO2 availability for carbon‐efficient acidic CO2 reduction.
