Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based Forest Fire Detection and monitoring for reducing false alarms in forest-fires

Computer Communications, 2020
The primary sources for ecological degradation currently are the Forest Fires (FF). The present observation frameworks for FF absence need supporting in constant checking of each purpose of the location at all time and prime location of the fire dangers.

Formation of a group of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
In this paper, control laws are designed to achieve desired flight formations for a group of unmanned (uninhabited) aerial vehicles (UAVs). It is proposed that the formation is led and managed by a leader UAV, which determines desired (for instance, safe and achievable) flight trajectories for a group of follower UAVs.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in Future Communication System

2021 26th IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2021
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is increasingly becoming a promising tool in communication system. On one hand, UAV has been used as an aerial communication platform to provide wireless communications. On the other hand, UAV has been employed as an aerial user equipment to perform arbitrary missions.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-Based Pavement Image Stitching Without Occlusion, Crack Semantic Segmentation, and Quantification

IEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print)
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based pavement distress detection offers efficient and safe advantages. However, obstructions from road vehicles and the slender shape of cracks in UAV images challenge accuracy.

Field evaluation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sprayer: effect of spray volume on deposition and the control of pests and disease in wheat.

Pest Management Science, 2019
BACKGROUND Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are a recently developed aerial spraying technology. However, the effect of spray volume variation on deposition and pesticide control efficacy is unknown. The effect of three UAV spray volumes (9.0, 16.8 and 28.

Fast and robust photomapping with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

2009 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2009
A fast and robust method for visual odometry based on the Fourier-Mellin Invariant (FMI) descriptor is presented. It extends previous FMI based approaches in two ways. First, a logarithmic representation of the spectral magnitude of the FMI descriptor is used. Second, a filter on the frequency where the shift is supposed to appear is applied.

MM-UAV: Mobile Manipulating Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, 2011
Given significant mobility advantages, UAVs have access to many locations that would be impossible for an unmanned ground vehicle to reach, but UAV research has historically focused on avoiding interactions with the environment. Recent advances in UAV size to payload and manipulator weight to payload ratios suggest the possibility of integration in the
