Smart Textiles that Teach: Fabric‐Based Haptic Device Improves the Rate of Motor Learning
A lightweight, fabric‐based wearable haptic sleeve is developed that provides kinesthetic feedback to block erroneous joint movements. The feedback is provided using low‐power‐consuming, electroadhesive clutches that are anchored to a human arm using body attachments.

The Effects of Exoskeleton Assistance at the Ankle on Sensory Integration During Standing Balance
Exoskeleton devices can reduce metabolic cost, increase walking speed, and augment load-carrying capacity. However, little is known about the effects of powered assistance on the sensory information required to achieve these tasks. To learn how to use an

Many robotic exoskeletons for lower limb assistance aid walking by reducing energy costs. However, investigations examining stair‐climbing assistance have remained limited, generally evaluating reduced activation of related muscles. This study sought to investigate how climbing assistance by a robotic exoskeleton affects energy consumption. Ten healthy

Performance analysis of unpowered lower limb exoskeleton during sit down and stand up [PDF]
ABSTRACTConventional unpowered lower limb exoskeleton paid little attention to the metabolic cost of body during sit down (SD)/stand up (SU). The SD motion model and the motion characteristics of lower extremity are analyzed; then, a novel unpowered lower limb exoskeleton is proposed, and the contribution degree of muscles and stiffness of joints are ...

Development of an Unpowered Energy Recycling Exoskeleton for Walking Assist [PDF]
Abstract Background A reduction of energy used during walking could present a significant advantage for both healthy individuals and those with reduced mobility. Current unpowered exoskeletons have shown a net reduction in energy consumption for walking, but commonly with a clutch and assist on the heel.

Human Factors Assessment of a Novel Pediatric Lower-Limb Exoskeleton
While several lower-limb exoskeletons have been designed for adult patients, there remains a lack of pediatric-oriented devices. This paper presented a human factor assessment of an adjustable pediatric lower-limb exoskeleton for childhood gait ...

Design and analysis of a passive knee assisted exoskeleton
In order to reduce the impact of knee injury and energy consumption during exercise, an unpowered exoskeleton was proposed based on the characteristics of ergonomics and human lower limb gait.

Design and preliminary evaluation of a flexible exoskeleton to assist with lifting
We present a passive (unpowered) exoskeleton that assists the back during lifting. Our exoskeleton uses carbon fiber beams as the sole means to store energy and return it to the wearer.
