Effect of Soil Degree of Saturation on Pile Load Capacity at Different Slenderness Ratios

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences
The conventional methods follow in designing piles adopt the assumption of saturated condition of soil depending on soil parameters at saturated condition while at most cases the whole piles or part of them lays in unsaturated soil zone, thus the ...

Conditionally Significant eQTL and TWAS Analyses Identify MsRD26 as a Major Candidate Positive Regulator of Salt Tolerance in Medicago sativa L

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt stress significantly impacts plant growth. Through population transcriptome, eQTL and TWAS analyses, we identified several candidate genes potentially associated with salt stress response. Functional assays suggested that some of these genes may contribute to salt tolerance.

An Avalanche Effect Nanomodulator Triggers Cascade Ferroptosis/Cuproptosis for Immunosuppressive Microenvironment Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanomodulator called L‐Arginine/lificiguat@Copper‐hollow Prussian blue@Calcium phosphate nanoparticles is constructed to launch a self‐amplifying “avalanche effect” in tumor cells. The ensuing cascade, triggered by the acidic tumor microenvironment and near‐infrared light, induces calcium overload, generates a reactive oxygen species and reactive ...

Effected by dietary nucleotide on changes in intestinal morphology, growth and fatty acid profile of whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

open access: yes‬‭Majallah-i ̒Ilmī-i Shīlāt-i Īrān, 2011
The effects of dietary nucleotide (0.2%) on the growth, intestinal morphology as well as fatty acid profile of the whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei was investigated in Bushehr province (Delvar) for a 5-week feeding trial.

Covalently Linked Peptides and Membrane Potential Enable CyaA Segment Translocation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a newly developed Droplet Interface Bilayer‐Pipette assay, the authors show that two segments of the CyaA toxin cross membranes by distinct mechanisms. One segment translocates spontaneously, whereas the translocation of the other depends on membrane potential.

Investigation of gamma (γ) radiation and hygrothermal aging on the performance of hybrid natural/synthetic fiber reinforced thermoset polymer matrix composites

open access: yesDiscover Materials
The study explores two critical factors affecting the performance of fiber-reinforced thermoset polymer composites: (i) the effect of gamma (γ) radiation as a post-treatment, and (ii) the effect of hygrothermal aging as a simulated service environment ...

Atmospheric Water Harvesting Through Polymer Hydrogel Sorbents: Materials Chemistry, Design Strategies, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polymer‐based hydrogels have emerged as promising materials for atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) due to their high water affinity, tunable network structure, and excellent moisture adsorption‐desorption performance. Functional hydrogel systems enable efficient water capture and controlled release under low‐energy conditions, offering a sustainable ...

Targeting the PHB2–ACSL3 Lipid‐Remodeling Axis Overcomes Cisplatin Resistance by Restoring Ferroptosis in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Platinum‐based chemotherapy resistance remains a major obstacle in gastric cancer (GC) treatment. Through integrated transcriptomic profiling of cisplatin‐resistant xenografts and pharmacogenomic interrogation of the NCI‐60 dataset, we identified Prohibitin‐2 (PHB2) as a previously unrecognized determinant of chemoresistance.

Supercapacitor Safety: Overcharge‐Induced Failure Mechanisms in Electrochemical Double‐Layer Capacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved synchrotron radiography reveals the internal evolution of electrochemical double‐layer capacitors under abusive overcharge. EDLCs are shown to follow a thermally driven failure pathway involving electrolyte decomposition, gas generation, and structural collapse, distinct from chemically driven thermal runaway effects of Lithium‐ion ...
