This study presents a simulation‐driven digital twin (DT) prototype framework, designed around a wireless sensor network (WSN) style pipeline, to study congestion and vehicular emissions at an urban signalized junction. The architecture follows a sensing‐to‐edge workflow: detector‐like traffic measurements (counts and speeds) are published through an ...

Abstract Road networks face increasing disruptions, yet vulnerability assessment methods either oversimplify traffic dynamics or require extensive computational simulations. This research introduces a novel approach integrating traffic simulation, graph theory, and machine learning for efficient and accurate vulnerability assessment.

An adversarial diverse deep ensemble approach for surrogate‐based traffic signal optimization
Abstract Surrogate‐based traffic signal optimization (TSO) is a computationally efficient alternative to simulation‐based TSO. By replacing the simulation‐based objective function, a surrogate model can quickly identify solutions by searching for extreme points on its response surface. As a popular surrogate model, the ensemble of multiple diverse deep

Unsignalized Intersection Management Strategy for Mixed Autonomy Traffic Streams [PDF]
With the rapid development of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) and intelligent transportation infrastructure, CAVs, connected human-driven vehicles (CHVs), and un-connected human-driven vehicles (HVs) will coexist on the roads in the future for a ...

This article proposes an edge‐computing‐based CAV operation at a stop‐controlled intersection. It investigates different cooperation classes at a stop‐controlled intersection. The numerical experiments show that mobility and energy efficiency are improved as the cooperation class increases. Computational time is much reduced with the proposed framework.

Research of Stop Assistance Considering Visibility of Intersection
Crossing collisions caused by cognitive error often occur at unsignalized intersections. For the countermeasure, driver assistant systems that warn a driver against stop sign violation are researched and commercialized.

Enhancing Intersection Safety at Uncontrolled Three‐Legged Intersections Through Assessment of Risk
This study focuses on exploring the relationship between accepted gap and risk, as well as quantifying the level‐of‐risk and severity (LORS) to design effective safety measures for reducing accident severity at uncontrolled three‐legged intersections.

Statistical models for estimation of unsignalized intersection capacity [PDF]
V této práci uvažujeme pravděpodobnostní model neřízené křižovatky typu T a pracujeme s pojmy světlost a kritická světlost. Kritické světlosti jsou hlavním předmětem Teorie akceptování mezer, jež je základem pro analytické odvození řešící teoreticky ...
