Modeling Crossing Conflicts at Unsignalized T-Intersections under Heterogeneous Traffic Conditions
The safety of unsignalized intersections is evaluated by correlating the number of crashes with traffic volume and intersection geometry. However, crash-based safety assessment has known drawbacks related to data quality and coverage.

Intersection Complexity and Its Influence on Human Drivers
As mixed traffic between automated vehicles and human drivers in inner city becomes more prevalent in the near future understanding and predicting drivers’ behavior is important.

Modeling cooperation in unsignalized intersections
Abstract: The Nordic countries, among others, rely heavily on unsignalized intersections, even in congested conditions. When unsignalized intersections are blocked due to queue spillbacks from downstream bottlenecks, the intersections do not function as intended. Traditional gap acceptance models do not provide realistic results under such conditions.

The choice to accept or reject an available gap at unsignalized intersections depends on several factors that include driver and vehicle characteristics, intersection geometry, weather conditions, etc. Although drivers in heterogeneous traffic conditions

Updating Unsignalized Intersection Performance: A Case Study in Indonesian Cities
This paper focuses on updating the performance of unsignalized intersections based on the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM). More than two decades since its publication, IHCM has never been updated although changes in traffic characteristics

Signalized and Unsignalized Road Traffic Intersection Models: A Comprehensive Benchmark Analysis
Road traffic flow models allow the development and testing of intelligent transportation solutions. Macroscopic intersection models are especially relevant for the simulation of large traffic networks.

Generalized gap acceptance models for unsignalized intersections [PDF]
This paper contributes to the modeling and analysis of unsignalized intersections. In classical gap acceptance models vehicles on the minor road accept any gap greater than the CRITICAL gap, and reject gaps below this threshold, where the gap is the time between two subsequent vehicles on the major road.
