Particulate Science and Technology, 1999ABSTRACT The unstable conveying zone has been recognized by many authors in their attempts to define the minimum conveying velocitv on the dilute phase side of this zone. It was found that the gas flow rate influences the magnitude and frequency of the pressure fluctuations experienced during this type of flow.

Unstable behavior of the dynamic fracture toughness
Technical Physics, 2006It is shown that the dynamic fracture toughness of materials substantially depends on the history of loading; this determines instability in the behaviour of this quantity under shock-wave loading. It is found that the minimal value of the dynamic fracture toughness can amount to 50% of the corresponding static value.
