Internal structure of Skyrme black hole [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We consider the internal structure of the Skyrme black hole under a static and spherically symmetric ansatz. $@u8(Be concentrate on solutions with the node number one and with the "winding" number zero, where there exist two solutions for each horizon ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Radial perturbations of charged wormholes

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
Ellis-Bronnikov wormholes suffer from an unstable radial mode. Here we investigate the evolution of the unstable mode(s) for charged wormholes. We show that the instability remains in the presence of charge, but exhibits a very fast decrease to zero.

Asymptotic behavior of CLS estimators for unstable INAR(2) models

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper the asymptotic behavior of the conditional least squares estimators of the autoregressive parameters $(\alpha,\beta)$, of the stability parameter $\varrho := \alpha + \beta$, and of the mean $\mu$ of the innovation $\vare_k$, $k \in \NN ...

Unstable states in QED of strong magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We question the use of stable asymptotic scattering states in QED of strong magnetic fields. To correctly describe excited Landau states and photons above the pair creation threshold the asymptotic fields are chosen as generalized Licht fields.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

On the stability of piecewise polynomial collocation methods for solving weakly singular integral equations of the second kind

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2008
Piecewise polynomial collocation methods on special nonuniform grids are efficient methods for solving weakly singular Fredholm and Volterra integral equations but there is a widespread belief that those methods are numerically unstable in the case of ...

Cellular automaton simulation of counter flow with paired pedestrians [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2011
Knowledge on pedestrian behavior is the basis to build decision support system for crowd evacuation management in emergency. In this paper, the impact of paired walking behavior on pedestrian counter flow in a channel is studied.
