Rapid Steam‐Assisted Temperature Swing Adsorption for Direct Air Capture Using a Rotary Adsorber

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
This study presents a direct air capture (DAC) device based on a steam‐regeneration rotary adsorber for high‐purity CO2. Testing of the prototype demonstrates its capability for continuous and stable carbon capture with the potential to achieve ton‐scale.

The Phenotypic Spectrum of Sporadic Creutzfeldt‐Jakob Disease Cortical Subtype

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 99, Issue 4, Page 883-896, April 2026.
Objective The objective of this study was to characterize the phenotypic spectrum of the rare sporadic Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease cortical subtype (sCJDMM/MV2C) in a large multicentric autopsy cohort. Methods We evaluated clinical histories, biofluid markers, brain diffusion‐weighted (DW)‐magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and electroencephalogram (EEG ...

The Clinical Manifestation of Homozygous Huntington's Disease

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Huntington's disease is an incurable neurodegenerative disease with deficits in many areas including cognitive, psychiatric, and most notably, motor. It is autosomal dominant, meaning one affected allele is enough to express the condition.

Verification of a Fluid–Structure Interaction Model for Aortic Stenosis Through Comparison With In Vitro Experiments

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 42, Issue 4, April 2026.
A patient‐specific Fluid–structure Interaction (FSI) model of aortic stenosis was verified against in vitro experiments using a mock‐loop circulatory system with patient‐specific calcified and non‐calcified valve models under varying flow conditions. The in vitro experiments were replicated in the FSI model.

Investigation of the actual implementation of “post‐sedation discharge criteria” and “time‐out” immediately before procedure in endoscopy: A nationwide survey study in Japan

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Post‐sedation discharge criteria for outpatient endoscopy and time‐out procedures immediately before endoscopic examinations are important for ensuring patient safety. This study used a web‐based questionnaire to survey the implementation status and current situation of these practices in Japan in 2024.

Application of High‐Order Direct Flux Reconstruction and Stiffness‐Resilient Time Integration to Simulations of Idealized Atmospheric Flows

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 98, Issue 4, Page 448-468, April 2026.
The proposed work implements a direct flux reconstruction method for spatial discretization and a stiffness‐resilient exponential time integration method for temporal discretization on the cube‐sphere grid. A space‐time tensor formalism is employed to provide a general representation in any curvilinear coordinate system. This combination enables highly

Hydrodynamic Modelling of Flexible Woody Vegetation With Delft3D FM: Implementing Physically‐Based 2D Flow–Vegetation Interaction Processes

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 4, April 2026.
We developed and made accessible to end‐users a numerical 2D hydrodynamic modelling approach with several advantages: reliable applicability to flexible woody vegetation from emergent to submerged conditions, and improved estimates of effective bed shear stress for sediment transport. Novelties compared to existing numerical models include a physically

Phase 3b Extension Study MT‐1186‐A04 to Evaluate the Continued Efficacy and Safety of Edaravone Oral Suspension for Up to an Additional 48 Weeks in Patients With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 4, Page 534-543, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims An On/Off dosing regimen of intravenous (IV) edaravone and edaravone oral suspension is currently approved in the US for treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Placebo‐controlled clinical trials showed that IV edaravone slows physical functional decline.

Harbor‐Induced Tidal Salinity Dispersion in Partially Stratified Estuaries

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The contribution of tidal trapping to salt dispersion has been well described for well‐mixed estuaries, in terms of barotropic filling and emptying of the traps. How traps contribute to salt dispersion in deeper, partially stratified systems remains underexplored.
