Upconversion emission studies of single particles

Nano Today, 2020
Abstract Lanthanide-doped upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) have been gaining increasing research interests in chemistry, materials, optics, and interdisciplines due to their excellent photostability, adequate anti-Stokes emission efficiency, multicolor sharp-band emissions and tunable long emission lifetimes.

Bifunctional Gd2O3:Er3+ particles with enhanced visible upconversion luminescence

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2013
This study examined the enhanced upconversion luminescence emission of bimodal Gd2O3:Er3+ particles by codoping with a trace amount of Li+ ions. Gd2O3:Er3+/Li3+ composite particles with enhanced upconversion luminescence emission were synthesized by using a simple urea homogeneous precipitation method.

Upconversion nano-particles from synthesis to cancer treatment: A review

Advanced Powder Technology, 2019
Abstract Among many methods to fabricate drugs, Upconversion seems to be an appropriate approach in order to treat cancer with almost no side effects. Upconversion is able to effectively convert two or more low energy photons into the higher energy photons. Since the traditional process of the drug circulation in the biological environment leaves the

Upconversion particles coated with molecularly imprinted polymers as fluorescence probe for detection of clenbuterol

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2015
A novel fluorescence probe based on upconversion particles, YF3:Yb(3+), Er(3+), coating with molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs@UCPs) has been synthesized for selective recognition of the analyte clenbuterol (CLB), which was characterized by scan electron microscope and X-ray powder diffraction.

Constructing a “Native” Oxyfluoride Layer on Fluoride Particles for Enhanced Upconversion Luminescence

Advanced Functional Materials, 2018
AbstractThe efficiency and tenability of upconversion fluorescence are correlated closely to the structure of host materials. Herein, an oxyfluoride layer grown in situ on fluoride‐based upconversion crystals through a high‐temperature air annealing is employed to synthesize stable lattice‐mismatch NaYF4:Yb3+/Er3+@YOF:Yb3+/Er3+ core/shell architecture ...

Synthesis and upconversion luminescence properties of monodisperse Y2O3:Yb, Ho spherical particles

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2011
Abstract Monodispersed spherical Y 2 O 3 :Yb, Ho upconversion luminescence (UCL) particles with sizes of 40–200 nm are prepared using a homogeneous precipitation method. It is found that aging time, varying between 90 and 10 min, has a profound influence on the precursor size, which systematically decreases from 230 nm to 50 nm.

Infrared imaging of polydimethylsiloxane-doped upconversion particle composites

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2023
Short-wave infrared imaging is playing an increasingly important role in present scientific research. However, the high experimental cost limits its application. Based on the upconversion fluorescence effect, we prepared a low-cost composite film for short-wave infrared imaging using upconversion particles and polydimethylsiloxane.
