The method of upper–lower solutions for nonlinear second order differential inclusions

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2007
The paper concerns a system which consists of the scalar differential inclusion \[ (| x'|^{p-2}x')'\in\partial g(t,x)+F(t,x,x')+\theta(x) \] on an interval \([0,b]\) and of the boundary conditions \[ x'(0)\in\xi_1(x(0)), \qquad -x'(b)\in\xi_2(x(b)).

Light‐scattering spectrum in the region of the upper, lower and double critical points in guaiacol—glycerol solution

Journal of Raman Spectroscopy, 1994
AbstractThe viscosity temperature dependence and the correlation radius of concentration fluctuations have been obtained in guaiacol‐glycerol solutions with various miscibility gaps up to a gap width ΔT = 0.01 °C. The correlation radius critical exponent ν changes from 0.63 when ΔT= 39°C to 0.53 when ΔT = 0.01 °C. Measurements were made using the light

Wave fronts in reaction-diffusion equations and upper-lower solutions method

2003
A new approach based on upper and lower solutions has been employed in [Dyn. Syst. Appl.12, 2003, 333-354] to unify and generalized existing results for wave fronts in reaction-diffusion equations arising in combustion and genetic models. The statements of the problem and the main results are here explained, and relations with existing results are ...
