Stochastic Dominance Bounds on Derivative Prices in a Multiperiod Economy with Proportional Transaction Costs [PDF]

open access: yes
By applying stochastic dominance arguments, upper bounds on the reservation write price of European calls and puts and lower bounds on the reservation purchase price of these derivatives are derived in the presence of proportional transaction costs ...

Lived and Care Experiences of Chronic Musculoskeletal Shoulder Pain in Australian Adults: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Australian evidence on lived and care experiences of chronic musculoskeletal shoulder pain (CMSP), irrespective of disorder classification or disease, is limited. However, such evidence is important for person‐centered care and informing local service pathways and care guidelines or standards.

Upper and lower bounds for eigenvalues

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1971
AbstractThis paper presents a new method for computing upper and lower bounds for the eigenvalues of the system [r(x) y′]′ + λp(x) y = 0, y(a) = y(b) = 0. It permits one to approximate as closely as desired simultaneously to any finite subset of the eigenvalues, and the method is particularly well adapted to the use of a computer.

Upper and lower bounds for eigenvalues by finite differences [PDF]

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 1970
Explicit upper and lower bounds are obtained for the eigenvalues of the problems: \[ \Delta u + \lambda u = 0 \quad\text{in } R, \quad u=0 \quad\text{on }\partial R; \] \[ \Delta^2 v - \Omega v = 0 \quad\text{in } R, \quad v= \partial v/\partial n=0 \quad\text{on }\partial R; \] \[ \Delta^2 w - \Lambda\Delta w = 0 \quad\text{in } R, \quad w= \partial w/

Effect of Foot Orthoses on Midfoot Pain and the Volume of Bone Marrow Lesions in the Midfoot: A Randomized Mechanism of Action Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Foot orthoses are thought to improve pain by potentially modifying internal mechanical forces. To test this, we explored whether foot orthoses can modify patterns of bone marrow lesions (BMLs) in people with midfoot pain. Methods Forty‐two people were recruited with midfoot pain, and magnetic resonance imaging–confirmed midfoot BMLs ...

Optimal bounds for the generalized Euler–Mascheroni constant

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
We provide several sharp upper and lower bounds for the generalized Euler–Mascheroni constant. As consequences, some previous bounds for the Euler–Mascheroni constant are improved.

Assessment of skin in patients with systemic sclerosis using high‐frequency ultrasound and shear wave elastography: A comparative study with histology, molecular and clinical parameters

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Ultrasound (US) has been proposed as a potential tool for assessing skin fibrosis in systemic sclerosis (SSc). However, a large‐scale comparison of US‐based assessment with histological markers of skin fibrosis has not been reported. We evaluated the US‐based skin assessments for their face validity (differentiation between involved SSc and ...

Semidefinite Optimization Providing Guaranteed Bounds on Linear Functionals of Solutions of Linear Integral Equations with Smooth Kernels

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
Based on recent progress on moment problems, semidefinite optimization approach is proposed for estimating upper and lower bounds on linear functionals defined on solutions of linear integral equations with smooth kernels.

Some new sharp bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative matrix and its application

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
In this paper, we give some new sharp upper and lower bounds for the spectral radius of a nonnegative irreducible matrix. Using these bounds, we obtain some new and improved bounds for the signless Laplacian spectral radius of a graph or a digraph.
