Upper extremity kinetics during walker-assisted gait of knee joint stiffness simulation [PDF]
Because of various inflammations and fractures of low limbs, the number of patients with knee joint stiffness is increasing. Walkers are commonly prescribed to improve these patients' stability and ambulatory ability.

Surgical Treatment of the Upper Extremity in Rheumatoid Arthritis [PDF]
All surgical procedures designed to preserve or improve function in the extremities, whether in rheumatoid arthritis or not, must consider the functional emphasis of the upper extremity as compared to the lower extremity.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

An Evaluation of Functional Hand Bracing and EMG Patterns of the Affected Upper Extremity of the Adult Hemiparetic [PDF]
This study project was designed to determine the effects of functional hand splinting on the hemiparetic affected upper extremity of adult subjects. Accordingly, a battery of tests, performed with and without bracing, was used to evaluate the function of

Temporal power modulation increases weld depth in high‐power laser beam welding of dissimilar round bars by nearly 20% compared to same average continuously welded welding power. The mechanism of action also applies to sheet welding and depends on the inertia of keyhole depth for the modulated laser beam power.

Efficacy of Using Virtual Reality to Reduce Perceived Exertion During Therapy When Compared to Traditional OT Intervention [PDF]
This project looked at the differences in perceived and actual exertion in virtual reality therapy interventions and upper extremity ergometer. The goal of this project was to quantify the efficacy of virtual reality interventions as an alternative to ...

Mechanical metamaterials capable of compressive stiffness tunability, shape morphing, and post‐fabrication modularity. Herein, the 3D unit cell design is based on an assembly of bistable von Mises trusses that exhibit a switch in compressive stiffness and resting height from one stable state to the other.

A sharpened Hausdorff-Young inequality [PDF]
The Hausdorff-Young inequality for Euclidean space, in its sharp form due to Beckner, gives an upper bound for the Fourier transform in terms of Lebesgue space norms, with an optimal constant. The extremizers have been identified by Lieb to be the Gaussians.
