Gene‐Informed Modeling of Denitrification Process in Groundwater Through Dynamic Flux Balance Analysis and Deep Learning

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We introduce two gene‐informed approaches that, for the first time, explicitly incorporate microbial genomic information into groundwater denitrification simulations. First, we couple the dynamic flux balance analysis (DFBA, which resolves genome‐resolved metabolic networks) with the PFLOTRAN reactive transport model (RTM).

Simultaneous measurements of HERFD‐XANES, RXES and RIXS of caesium using a transition‐edge sensor

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 3, Page 683-692, May 2026.
A transition‐edge sensor (TES) enables simultaneous measurements of HERFD‐XANES, RXES and RIXS with a high‐energy resolution. This study employed a TES to investigate caesium compounds at the Cs LII‐edge (5359 eV).A transition‐edge sensor (TES) enables high‐resolution measurements of X‐ray fluorescence across a wide energy range, allowing for the ...

Bayesian Inversion of Electrical Resistivity Tomography Data for Uranium Exploration Through a Localized Ensemble‐Based Approach

open access: yesGeophysical Prospecting, Volume 74, Issue 4, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is a geophysical method commonly used in mining exploration to reconstruct the subsurface resistivity. The associated inverse problem is typically addressed using deterministic approaches that minimize an objective function and guarantee fast convergence.

THE AESTHETICS OF URBAN METABOLISM: Landscape, Design and the Politics of In/Visibility

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Volume 50, Issue 3, Page 644-666, May 2026.
Abstract In this article, we chart the evolving aesthetic contours of urban metabolism across London, focusing on the River Lea and Thamesmead to the north and south of the River Thames, respectively. We begin in the nineteenth century, when these two sites formed critical nodes within a new sewerage system that relegated the city's circulatory flows ...

Songorine inhibits mitophagy in chronic heart failure via the TBC1D15/Fis1/Rab7A pathway

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 9, Page 1939-1957, May 2026.
Abstract Background and purpose Songorine (SGR) is an alkaloid extracted from Aconitum carichaelii Debx. and has a demonstrated role in cardiac dysfunction. Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a severe clinical syndrome leading to functional impairment and death, primarily due to the deterioration of energy metabolism in cardiomyocytes. However, the precise
