Photodissociation and Theory to Investigate Uranium Oxide Cluster Cations.

Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2020
Uranium oxide cluster cations of the form UnOm+ are produced by laser vaporization of a depleted uranium rod in a pulsed supersonic expansion. Ions are mass-analyzed and mass-selected with a time-of-flight spectrometer and studied with UV laser ...

Metal-Organic Framework-Intercalated Graphene Oxide Membranes for Selective Separation of Uranium.

Analytical Chemistry, 2021
Design and construction of a membrane that can achieve selective separation of uranium from spent fuel or seawater is a big challenge in the field of separation science. In this work, 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (BTC) and three different nitrates (Zn/

Highly efficient extraction of uranium from strong HNO3 media achieved on phosphine oxide functionalized superparamagnetic composite polymer microspheres

Journal of Materials Chemistry A, 2021
The magnetic adsorbent Fe3O4@SiO2/P(TRIM–VPA) developed by distillation–precipitation polymerization not only shows good adsorption efficiency for uranium in strong HNO3 media, but also has strong acid resistance in strong HNO3 solution.

[U(H2O)2]{[(UO2)10O10(OH)2][(UO4)(H2O)2]}: A Mixed-Valence Uranium Oxide Hydrate Framework.

Inorganic Chemistry, 2020
A uranium oxide hydrate framework, [U(H2O)2]{[(UO2)10O10(OH)2][(UO4)(H2O)2]} (UOF1), was synthesized hydrothermally using schoepite as a uranium precursor.

Water-endurable intercalated graphene oxide adsorbent with highly efficient uranium capture from acidic wastewater

, 2021
It is a challenge to improve the adsorption performance and service life of graphene oxide (GO) composite by introducing a macromolecular to manipulate the interlayer of GO to form a good water-endurable by intercalation.

Oxidation of uranium mononitride and uranium monocarbide

Transactions of the Faraday Society, 1966
The oxidation of uranium mononitride UN has been investigated and some comparative measurements carried out on uranium monocarbide UC. Powdered UN, of surface area 0.2–0.4 m2/g, oxidizes isothermally at a measurable rate in the temperature range 230–270°C.

Fungal transformations of uranium oxides

Environmental Microbiology, 2007
Summary The biogeochemical activities of free‐living and symbiotic fungi must be acknowledged in attempts to understand uranium cycling and dispersal in the environment. Although the near‐surface geochemistry of uranium is very complex and a wide variety of mineral phases is known, uranium trioxide (UO

Oxidation of Uranium Dioxide (UO2)

Nature, 1948
IN connexion with earlier investigations on uranium oxides in this Institute, it was observed that uranium dioxide (UO2) can react with oxygen at so low a temperature as 120° C. To obtain more exact information about this low-temperature oxidation of UO2, the oxide was heated in purified oxygen at different temperatures from 100° to 265° C.

The potential use of uranium oxides and uranium–bismuth mixed oxides in catalysis

J. Chem. Soc., Faraday Trans. 2, 1987
The potential use of uranium in the field of catalysis is presented in the first part of this paper. Numerous applications of uranium binary oxides, as well as of mixed oxides, are reviewed with a special emphasis on the role of U–Sb–O catalysts in selective oxidation (and ammoxidation) processes. Attempts are made to correlate the electronic structure
