ABCABC Stacking‐Enabled Non‐Centrosymmetry 3R‐ZnIn2S4 Nanosheets for Piezocatalytic Uranium Extraction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ABCABC stacking sequence in 2D ZnIn2S4 nanosheets creates intrinsic non‐centrosymmetry, enabling robust piezocatalysis under weak mechanical agitation. The nanosheets achieve a H2O2 yield of 276.7 µmol g−1 h−1 and uranium extraction capacity of 763.2 mg g−1 via a dual mechanism of direct piezoreduction and in situ H2O2 complexation.

Multi-electron Transfer by U(ɪɪ) and Masked U(ɪɪ) Complexes

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2022
Complexes of uranium in low oxidation state have shown the ability of activating non-reactive small molecules such as N2. However, the multi-electron transfer required for such activation, remains limited in uranium chemistry. Here, we review our recent

Metal oxide aerogels: Preparation and application for the uranium removal from aqueous solution.

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment, 2020
The low density CeO2, Pr2O3 and Nd2O3 aerogels were synthesized by a novel solution-freeze-drying-calcination route. The bulk densities of the CeO2, Pr2O3 and Nd2O3 aerogels were calculated to be 8.10, 10.67 and 9.80 mg/cm3, respectively.

Metal‐Half‐Salen Chemistry for One‐Pot Mineralization on Hydrophobic Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here we report a versatile one‐pot synthetic strategy for organic–inorganic composite membranes, which leverages a metal half‐Salen system to precisely govern the competing kinetics of coordination and hydrolysis. In contrast to conventional two‐step metal‐phenol chemistries, our integrated approach substantially simplifies the fabrication process ...

Covalency in oxidized uranium

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2015
Using x-ray emission spectroscopy and absorption spectroscopy, it has been possible to directly access the states in the unoccupied conduction bands that are involved with $5f$ and $6d$ covalency in oxidized uranium. By varying the oxidizing agent, the degree of $5f$ covalency can be manipulated and monitored, clearly and irrevocably establishing the ...

Numerical simulation of oxidative corrosion of metallic uranium in a confined environment with a validation through existing experimental data

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
As an energy source and strategic material, uranium usually needs to be stored in a confined environment for long periods of time. Due to its active chemical nature, uranium will inevitably corrode, thus affecting its performance.

Leaching Process of Uranium in Waste Residue by Chloride Roasting

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2023
For a uranium purification enterprise in the south of China, the waste residue (uranium grade 12000%), which is a mixture of rubble from the extraction in the purification system and other wastewater passing through the plate and frame after resting ...
