Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Studies on uranium recovery from a U-bearing Radoniów Dump
This work reports the possibility of uranium recovery from a post-mining uranium ore dump in Poland by a bioleaching method. The studies were conducted on the dump leaching model with the mass of 570 kg of uranium bearing mineral material from Radoniów ...

XPS determination of the uranium valences in U3O8
Uranium oxides are tightly related to the whole nuclear fuel cycle in the nuclear industry. However, the understanding of the chemical states in mixed valence uranium oxides remains scattered and deserves more exploration.

Cathodoluminescence of uranium oxides [PDF]
The cathodoluminescence of uranium oxide surfaces prepared in-situ from clean uranium exposed to dry oxygen was studied. The broad asymmetric peak observed at 470 nm is attributed to F-center excitation.

Investigation on Chlorination of Uranium Oxides With CCl4 and HCl Gas
In this study, the chlorination mechanism and influencing factors of uranium oxides(mainly U3O8) were studied by using CCl4 and HCl gas as chlorination reagents respectively. The chlorination of U3O8 powder was studied with CCl4 as chlorination reagent.

Determination of inorganic compounds in drinking water on the basis of household water heater scale [PDF]
The concept of fractional extraction from sediment — in our analyses it is scale, is based on the assumption that uranium with a solid substance conform bonds of different strength and that these bonds can be gradually fractionated by the action of ...
