Oxidation of Uranium Dioxide [PDF]
The oxidation of UO2 was studied by thermogravimetry and X-ray diffraction. It was clarified that the thermal history covering the first stage of the oxidation from UO2 to U3O UO7 significantly influenced the rate of the oxidation of the second stage from U3O7 to U3 O8.

Modern x-ray spectral methods in the study of the electronic structure of actinide compounds: Uranium oxide UO2 as an example [PDF]
Fine X-ray photo electron spectral (XPS) structure of uranium dioxide UO2 in the binding energy (BE) range 0-~č40 eV was associated mostly with the electrons of the outer (OVMO) (0-15 eV BE) and inner (IVMO) (15-40 eV BE) valence molecular orbitals ...

The ABCABC stacking sequence in 2D ZnIn2S4 nanosheets creates intrinsic non‐centrosymmetry, enabling robust piezocatalysis under weak mechanical agitation. The nanosheets achieve a H2O2 yield of 276.7 µmol g−1 h−1 and uranium extraction capacity of 763.2 mg g−1 via a dual mechanism of direct piezoreduction and in situ H2O2 complexation.

Determination of U3O8 in UO2 by infrared spectroscopy
The oxygen-uranium (O-U) system has various oxides, such as UO2, U4O9, U3O8, and UO3. Uranium dioxide is the most important one because it is used as nuclear fuel in nuclear power plants.
