Magneto‐X Effects in Magnetic Soft Materials and Their Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically explores magnetic soft materials (MSMs), a novel class of composites that transform under magnetic fields. It catalogs fundamental “Magneto‐X” effects, classifies materials by their matrix and magnetic fillers, and highlights transformative applications in soft robotics, biomedical devices, flexible electronics, etc. Finally,

Meter‐Scale Ultra‐Large‐Area Flexible Electroluminescent Devices Enabled by Aerosol Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a simple aerosol spraying method using modified luminescent ink to fabricate meter‐scale flexible alternating current electroluminescent (ACEL) devices. Enhanced particle dispersibility and film uniformity yield impressive brightness up to 500 cd m−2, positioning these devices as effective luminous navigation signs for industrial ...

Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.

Second-best Congestion Pricing Schemes in the Monocentric City [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper considers second-best congestion pricing in the monocentric city, with endogenous residential density and endogenous labour supply. A spatial general equilibrium model is developed that allows consideration of the three-way interactions ...

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

Urban spatial structure and air quality in the United States: Evidence from a longitudinal approach

open access: yesEnvironment International
Previous studies on the relationship between urban form and air quality: (1) report mixed results among specific aspects of urban spatial structure (e.g., urban expansion, form, or shape) and (2) use primarily cross-sectional approaches with a single ...

Monocentric Versus Polycentric Models in Urban Economics [PDF]

open access: yes
This article overviews the development of the formal modelling framework for the urban spatial structure which started in 1960s and grew dramatically thereafter.

The relationship between physical segregation and social marginalisation in the urban environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper posits a relationship between the urban location of immigrant quarters and the likelihood that the inhabitants of such areas will improve themselves economically.

Changes in Alcohol Retail Laws and Foot Traffic at Liquor Stores

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study how expanding alcohol availability at grocery and convenience stores affects consumer traffic in liquor stores by leveraging recent changes in state‐level alcohol distribution laws in a difference‐in‐difference quasi‐experimental design.
