Urban Spatial Structure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Literature, 1997
In this essay we offer a view of what economics can say about and learn from urban structure. In doing so, we reach into neighboring disciplines; but we do not aspire to a complete survey even of urban economics, much less of the related fields of urban geography or urban planning.

Segregation and urban spatial structure in Barcelona [PDF]

open access: yesPapers in Regional Science, 2020

Discovering urban spatial-temporal structure from human activity patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Urban geographers, planners, and economists have long been studying urban spatial structure to understand the development of cities. Statistical and data mining techniques, as proposed in this paper, go a long way in improving our knowledge about human ...

Programmable 3D Photovoltaics via Mechanically Origami‐Coded Interlocked 3D Kirigami and Nano‐Root Anchored AgNWs–In–Ga Multiphasic Alloy Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanically origami‐coded 3D kirigami photovoltaics convert a single extension–release cycle into deterministic self‐folding, reconfiguring planar solar cells into programmable 3D modules. Distinct coding strategies enable either ultrahigh stretchability (500% system strain) or ultrahigh initial effective areal coverage (225%).
