Exploring the influence of transportation on urban spatial structure using the spatial Durbin model: evidence from 265 prefecture-level cities in China

open access: yesComputational Urban Science
The interactive relation between transportation and urban spatial structure remains a significant yet challenging issue in transport engineering and urban planning.

Space‐Time Coding Conformal Metasurfaces for Multifrequency Beam Steering and Shaping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Space‐time coding conformal metasurfaces enable dynamic wave control on curved surfaces by combining programmable spatial patterns with temporal modulation. This study shows that a single conformal aperture can independently manipulate multiple frequency components, achieving multifunctional beam shaping and steering, with implications for ...

Scaling and allometry in the building geometries of Greater London [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Many aggregate distributions of urban activities such as city sizes reveal scaling but hardly any work exists on the properties of spatial distributions within individual cities, notwithstanding considerable knowledge about their fractal structure.

Reliable and Reusable All‐Solid‐State Contact‐Type Pre‐Lithiation Platform for High‐Performance All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A reusable contact‐type pre‐lithiation platform enables uniform, precisely controllable pre‐lithiation at low stack pressure, suppressing interfacial degradation and thereby markedly improving initial Coulombic efficiency and cycling performance in all‐solid‐state batteries.

Identification and Evaluation of the Polycentric Urban Structure: An Empirical Analysis Based on Multi-Source Big Data Fusion

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Identifying and evaluating polycentric urban spatial structure is essential for understanding and optimizing current urban development. In order to accurately identify the urban centers of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), this study ...

Dundee Discussion Papers in Economics 253:Spatial Interactions in Hedonic Pricing Models: The Urban Housing Market of Aveiro, Portugal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Spatial heterogeneity, spatial dependence and spatial scale constitute key features of spatial analysis of housing markets. However, the common practice of modelling spatial dependence as being generated by spatial interactions through a known spatial ...

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Dynamics of urban sprawl [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This paper introduces a framework for understanding the dynamics of urban growth, particularly the continuing problem of urban sprawl. The models we present are based on transitions from vacant land to established development.
