An Increasing Misalignment Between Crop Distribution and Environmental Resources Under Climate Change in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Climate change reshapes the spatial alignment between crop production and environmental resources. Using multi‐source data and a crop model, integrated climatic, water, and soil endowments for maize and wheat are quantified and compared with harvest distributions.

Sparse Total Focus Imaging of Rail Transit Rail Defects Based on Grey Wolf Algorithm

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] Using the ultrasonic phased array technology can realize high-precision imaging detection of rail transit rail defects. However, the widely used FMC-TFM (full matrix capture-total focusing method) has the disadvantages of long computation ...

Transport Energy and Emissions: Urban Public Transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This chapter explores how to measure energy and emissions from urban transport. It then provides information to make a comparison between energy use and CO2 emissions for urban travel by car, train, tram and bus. A substantial difference is noted between the figures for peak and off-peak travel, associated with patterns of vehicle loadings. The chapter

Alternating High‐Fat and Polysaccharide Diets Modulates Gut Phage‐Bacterial Interplay

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals how alternating high‐fat and polysaccharide diets reshape the human gut virome and enhance phage‐bacteria interactions. Using large‐scale metagenomic meta‐analysis and a time‐resolved mouse model, the authors show that diets strongly modulate phage abundance, lifestyle, and gene exchange, offering new insights into nutrition‐guided ...

MATHEMATICAL MODELING CONSIDERING AIR POLLUTION OF TRANSPORTATION: AN URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING, CASE STUDY IN PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper provides the findings on a project undertaken to develop a geo-spatial mathematical model relating landuse, road type and air quality. The model shows how spatial elements and issues were quantified to accurately represent the usual and ...

Asymmetric Active Center Triggers Side‐On Photo‐Fenton‐Like Reaction Through Polar Charge Transfer and Self‐Adapting Sulfur Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Cu‐Zn3In2S6 photocatalyst (Cu‐ZISV) with asymmetric Cu‐SV‐Zn sites was designed and synthesized to boost peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation kinetics. The side‐on photo‐Fenton‐like reaction by the asymmetric Cu‐SV‐Zn site accelerated PMS activation and pollutant degradation, and the first‐order kinetic constant of Cu‐ZISV increased by 4.87 times ...

Optimizing Urban Traffic Management: Investigating the Impact of Probe Vehicle Road Coverage, Penetration Rates, and Speed Data Quality in Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram Estimation

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation
Probe vehicles and loop detectors collect traffic data for empirical MFD estimation. The accuracy of MFD estimation is contingent upon the percentage of road network links covered (road coverage) and the extent of information (penetration rate) from each

A Novel Metal Foam‐Supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell With High Specific Power

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) employing metal foam supports with an ultrahigh porosity of 90% and average pore size of 100 µm are successfully fabricated. The metal foam architecture significantly enhances gas diffusion coefficients, effectively reducing concentration polarization while simultaneously decreasing areal mass.
