Correlation Analysis between Rail Track Geometry and Car-Body Vibration Based on Fractal Theory

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2022
The effect of track geometry on vehicle vibration is a major concern in high-speed rail (HSR) operation from the perspectives of ride comfort and safety. However, how to quantitatively characterize the relation between them remains a problem to be solved

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...

Rail Corrugation Characteristics Deduced from a Wavelet Analysis of High-Speed Train Interior Noise and Vibration

open access: yesShock and Vibration
A method to deduce the characteristics of rail corrugation was developed and presented in this paper. It has been found that noise and vibration in the train vehicle were primarily contributed by rail corrugation and wheel polygonalisation.

Elephant‐Skin‐Inspired Porous Cementitious Tiles with Programmable Crack Networks for Passive Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Urban Mobility and Transportation

open access: yes, 2019
Urban areas are developing quickly, innovative technologies grant enlarged scope for mobility management. According to literature, 50% of world population and as much as 75% of EU population live in cities, where the majority of GDP is generated. CO2 is responsible of 75% GHG worldwide and transportation is worth around 20% of this share and the ...
