On the age-radius relation and orbital history of cluster galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We explore the region of influence of a galaxy cluster using numerical simulations of cold dark matter halos. Many of the observed galaxies in a cluster are expected to be infalling for the first time.

Assessing the context‐dependence of invasiveness in the Italian wall lizard (Podarcis siculus)

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 2, February 2026.
Although the Italian wall lizard (Podarcis siculus) is widely considered fully invasive, our study on Gorgona Island shows its spread is largely confined to human‐altered habitats. Native common wall lizards (P. muralis) persist in natural areas, indicating that Italian wall lizard invasiveness is context‐dependent and mediated by human‐altered ...

Assessing Regional Variation in the Relationships Between Local Stream Characteristics and Culvert Barrier Attributes Relative to Fish Passage

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, Volume 42, Issue 2, Page 368-388, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Stream fragmentation is a leading threat to freshwater fish diversity and is often caused by the installation of impassable culverts at road–stream crossings. In the United States alone, millions of culverts contribute to this fragmentation. Therefore, estimating culvert barrier impact on aquatic organism passage and prioritizing barriers for ...

Investigating Deep Learning Knowledge Transfer in Streamflow Prediction From Global to Local Catchment

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Accurate streamflow prediction is critical for flood forecasting and water resource management, particularly in data‐scarce regions. Deep learning models like Long Short‐Term Memory (LSTM) offer a bridge to hydrologic regionalization utilizing climate data and catchment characteristics to improve behavioral insights and constrain predictive ...

Vulnerability of marine megafauna to global at‐sea anthropogenic threats

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
