Reoperative ureteral reimplantation: Strategies for management
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1991Ureteral reimplantation is a procedure commonly performed by both urologists and pediatric surgeons. Although the vast majority are successful, there are some patients in whom technical considerations or bladder/ureteral abnormalities militate against success. We review our experience in 19 patients with multiple failed reimplants.

Unusual Complications of Transvesical Ureteral Reimplantation
Journal of Urology, 1976Four of 8 cases that represent unusual and infrequent complications of the transvesicle Politano-Leadbetter ureteral reimplantation technique are reported. Approximately 90 per cent of ureteral reimplantations for vesicoureteral reflux may be done satisfactorily as a transvesical procedure but combining it with an extravesical approach of the ureter ...

Laparoscopic Ureteric Reimplantation
2008Ureteric reimplantation in open surgery can be done extravesically or transvesically. Laparoscopic ureteric reimplantation by transvesical approach can be challenging because of the limited space and the risk of ports slipping out. It also involves considerable expertise in suturing.

Robotic Ureteric Reimplantation
2017Since the introduction of da Vinci robotic system (Intuitive Surgicals, Sunnyvale, CA, United States) in 1998, robot assisted laparoscopic surgery (RALS) has expanded its application in Urological practice with promising results. The technical advantages of RALS over pure laparoscopy are magnified (up to ten times) 3D vision, wristed instruments ...

Make a Pfannenstiel incision. Deepen the incision down through subcutaneous tissue. Make a transverse incision in the anterior rectus sheath. Develop rectal fascial flap superiorly to the umbilicus and inferiorly to the pubic symphysis. Separate the rectus muscles in the midline.

Transvesicoscopic Ureteric Reimplantation
2009Transvesicoscopic ureteric reimplantation is an advanced minimal access procedure for the treatment of vesico-ureteric reflux. The procedure demands the proficiency and the skills of an experienced pediatric surgeon. Operation room setup, patient positioning, special instruments and port placement sites in the lower abdomen have been outlined.

Ureteral reimplantation in children
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1968Abstract An experience with ureteral reimplantation in 287 children during 8 1 2 years is presented. The early cases, including 23 children, were operated upon by an extravesical technic which was abandoned because of a high failure rate. Thereafter an intravesical procedure was employed with very satisfactory results.

[Laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation.]
Archivos espanoles de urologia, 2017Although the laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation (LUR) has a history of over 20 years, its presence in the literature is relatively sparse, almost always in the form of small case series with low statistical power, which has prevented consistent results. It has proven to be a safe and effective technique, improving the safety profile and perioperative

Ureteral Reimplantation by the Transverse Advancement Technique
Journal of Urology, 1978When the transverse advancement technique of ureteral reimplantation is used the submucosal tunnel is made transversely across the base of the bladder. This method was used for reimplantation of 131 ureters in 92 children. The results indicate that the transverse advancement technique is adaptable to virtually any situation requiring ureteral ...

Extravesical Ureteral Reimplantation: An Outpatient Procedure
Journal of Urology, 2008We determined whether implementation of a critical pathway and modification of the extravesical ureteral reimplantation surgical technique to repair unilateral and bilateral vesicoureteral reflux would consistently result in same day patient hospital discharge without increased morbidity. We evaluated all children undergoing extravesical ureteral ...
