Hydroxynonenal in Obstructed Urinary Bladder Disease
Elevated levels of oxidized proteins have been observed in urinary bladder tissues subjected to partial outlet obstruction. 4‐Hydroxynonenal (4‐HNE), a toxic end‐product of lipid peroxidation, has been implicated in oxidative modification of proteins and enzymes.

A microbiota‐derived metabolite, indole‐3‐pyruvic acid, suppresses macrophage ferroptosis through the AHR–NF‐κB–SLC7A11 axis. This preserves CD8+ T cell function in bladder cancer. Macrophage‐targeted nanoparticles enhance indole‐3‐pyruvic acid delivery and overcome resistance to PD‐1 blockade.
