Urine alkalization improves the problems of pain and sleep in hypersensitive bladder syndrome
International Journal of Urology, 2013ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy of urine alkalization therapy using citrates in patients with hypersensitive bladder syndrome.MethodsA total of 76 patients with urinary frequency were assessed for their symptoms using a 2‐day voiding diary as well as the urine pH at each voiding during the screening period.

Abstract Objective—To investigate the effects of oral administration of activated charcoal (AC) and urine alkalinization via oral administration of sodium bicarbonate on the pharmacokinetics of orally administered carprofen in dogs. Animals—6 neutered male Beagles. Procedures—Each dog underwent 3 experiments (6-week interval between experiments).

Background Lemon juice stimulates the formation of calcium carbonate released by the pancreas and aids in alkalization of the blood and urine, neutralizing acids such as uric acid. Objectives To assess wheather drinking freshly squeezed lemon water changes serum uric levels (SUA) and influences urine pH.

We encountered a case of hypouricemia with increases both in urate clearence (Cur) and in the ratio of Cur to creatinine clearance (Cur/Ccr), the normal daily urinary excretion of urate, and urolithiasis. Pyrazinamide markedly decreased Cur and Cur/Ccr, and both probenecid and benzbromarone markedly increased Cur and Cur/Ccr, however, benzbromarone did

The so-called cystitis due to cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) is caused by direct contact of the mucosa with alkylating metabolites in acid urine. These alkylating metabolites can be inactivated by instillation of cysteine into the urinary bladder. The cytostatically active metabolites of ifosfamide (Holoxan), a derivative of oxazaphosphorine, are ...

The aim of the study was to compare the renal citrate excretion and the degree of urine saturation with calcium oxalate in patients with active calcium oxalate urolithiasis and in healthy subjects under basal conditions and after alkalization. There were 20 women before menopause with calcium stone disease aged 33.5 +/- 7.1 in the first group and 20 ...
