Urologic surgical procedures in patients with uterus neoplasm and colon-rectal cancer
Urologia Journal, 2008Introduction. During the last 30 years, the multidisciplinary treatments of colon and uterus neoplasm have yielded an increase in total survival rates, fostering therefore the increase of cases with regional relapse involving the urinary tract. Patients with testicular non-seminomatous germ cell tumors in the modern cisplatin-based chemotherapy era show favorable outcomes, yielding survivors exposed to increased risk of second malignant neoplasms. The carcinogenic effects of cisplatin were well established, and its side effects had shown close connections with the urinary system.

Application of Conditionally Replicating Herpes Vector for Gene Therapy Treatment of Urologic Neoplasms [PDF]
Herpes vector has been widely used for experimental gene therapy. We herein review the strategies of such therapy for the treatment of urologic neoplasms. Most experimental studies of genetically altered viruses have employed replication-incompetent vectors. However, such viruses are unable to infect additional cells subsequent to the initial infection

Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Urological Neoplasms—an American Experience
1988Applications of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) to the urogenital system have not as yet enjoyed wide popularity within the USA. This biopsy method may be applied directly to tumours within the urogenital system, or imaging by computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography and arteriography can be used.

Report on 2 cases of urological neoplasia in HIV positive patients. The first one is a renal adenocarcinoma in a heroin-abuser patient, of a type we have only found mentioned in the literature in 4 other cases. The second case was a disseminated Kaposi's sarcoma, the first symptom being a scrotum impairment and the biopsy suggested the diagnosis.
