Analysis of nitrogen-doped ion-beam-deposited hydrogenated diamond-like carbon films using ERDA/RBS, TOF-ERDA and Raman spectroscopy

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2012
In this work we deposited a series of hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H) films and nitrogen-doped a- C:H films on silicon substrates using an ion-beam- deposition technique called anode layer source. We used different discharge voltages, which influence the sp2/sp3 carbon hybridization ratio, and we also varied the N2-to- C2H2 flow ratios.

Analysis of hydrogen absorption by Ti and Ti?6Al?4V using the ERDA technique

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2003
Abstract Ti and Ti–6Al–4V alloy samples were hydrogenated at different temperatures from 150°C to 750°C. They were analyzed using elastic recoil detection analysis (ERDA) with 3 MeV α particles and Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (RBS) with 6.585 MeV α particles. ERDA shows an increase in the amount of hydrogen absorbed

Element-Dependent ERDA Probing Depths Using Different Detection Systems

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1997
Abstract Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ERDA) of a pyrex-glass sample is carried out in the elemental range of Z=5–20 using element dispersive ionization chambers and a time-of-flight (TOF-E) system, respectively. It is shown that recoil identification with the gas detectors is limited to energies significantly higher than the values assigned to ...
