Anodic behavior of zinc in Zn-MnO2 battery using ERDA technique

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2010
The commercial, alkaline zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn-MnO2) primary battery has been transformed into a secondary battery using lithium hydroxide electrolyte. Galvanostatic discharge-charge experiments showed that the capacity decline of the Zn-MnO2 battery is not caused by the MnO2 cathode, but by the zinc anode.

Using ERDAS to extract and estimate the rice planting area of Hubei Province

2011 International Conference on Remote Sensing, Environment and Transportation Engineering, 2011
Having been one of an important application on remote sensing monitoring of rice, information extraction and estimation of large rice planting area timely is likely to be more difficult, only depending on the former on-the-spot investigation.

Land cover classification of SSC image: unsupervised and supervised classification using ERDAS imagine

IEEE International IEEE International IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2004. IGARSS '04. Proceedings. 2004, 2004
NASA's Earth Sciences program is primarily focused on providing high quality data products to its science community. NASA also recognizes the need to increase its involvement with the general public, including areas of information and education. The main objective of this study is to classify the vegetation, man-made structures, and miscellaneous ...

Measurement of very low bulk concentrations (below 1 ppm) of hydrogen using ERDA

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2004
The measurement of small quantities of hydrogen (a few ppm) present in the bulk of materials by elastic recoil detection analysis is very difficult as the sensitivity is limited by a high background, almost continuous in level, in the low energy region, i.e. bulk region of the spectrum.

Hydrogen microdetermination in geological materials using elastic recoil detection analysis (ERDA)

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1990
Abstract For the first time, hydrogen has been determined (by means of nuclear microanalysis) within glassy inclusions trapped in volcanic minerals. Elastic recoil detection of protons has been used by means of the transmission and reflection geometry.

Trace elementary concentration in enamel after dental bleaching using HI-ERDA

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2006
Abstract Changes of elementary concentrations in dental enamel after a bleaching treatment with different products, is presented, with special focus on the oxygen contribution. Concentrations for Ca, P, O and C and some other trace elements were obtained for enamel of bovine incisor teeth by HI-ERDA measurements using a 35 Cl incident beam and an ...

Quantitative analysis of thin film compositions using EFTEM combined with RBS and ERDA

Microelectronic Engineering, 2007
Analytical electron microscopy today is an emerging technique allowing for the composition analysis of solids with high spatial resolution down to 1nm or less. In particular energy filtered transmission electron microscopy (EFTEM) is becoming a technique which is frequently applied to study nanometric semiconductor device features. Among the advantages

Quantitative analysis of hydrogen using TOF ERDA spectroscopy

2008
Time-of-Flight Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (TOF ERDA) is a well established and powerful ion beam analytical technique. Method is used for simultaneous, quantitative elemental depth distributions of light and medium mass elements in both light and heavy matrices.

Simultaneous analysis of Li and B in amorphous thin film glasses using ERDA

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1992
Abstract Starting from Li2O-B2O3-SiO2 melts of definite composition thin amorphous films were prepared on glass substrates by physical vapor deposition. The conventional ERDA proved helpful to analyse the lithium to boron concentration ratios in the layers of any thickness and in the compact initial glass material.

Characterization of carbon implanted fused silica samples using RBS and ERDA

2006
Fused quartz implanted with C ions with different energies and implantation doses were investigated using non-Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy and Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis. Samples were analized under same conditions before and after annealing in forming gas to study mobility of carbon and hydrogen atoms in the substrate.
