Wear of hard-on-hard hip prostheses: influence of head size, surgical position, material and function [PDF]
Edge loading in hip replacement bearings may occur due to rotational and translational mal-positioning. Rotational mal-positioning is easier to detect clinically which include steep inclination angle and excessive version/anteversion angles ...

Targeted computational probabilistic corroboration of experimental knee wear simulator: the importance of accounting for variability [PDF]
Experimental testing is widely used to predict wear of total knee replacement (TKR) devices. Computational models cannot replace this essential in vitro testing, but they do have complementary strengths and capabilities, which make in silico models a ...

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

High-Resolution Casts for Lithic Use-Wear Analysis
ABSTRACTThis paper describes a method for creating positive epoxy casts of lithic artifacts that can be subjected to use-wear examination. This method overcomes problems associated with examining patinated artifactsfor microscopie traces of use and limitations documented for other casting methodologies.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the
