An Experimental Investigation of Hot Machining with Induction to Improve Ti-5553 Machinability [PDF]
The manufacturing of aeronautic parts with high mechanical properties requires the use of high performance materials. That’s why; new materials are used for landing gears such as the titanium alloy Ti-5553.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Studying ceramics vessels to approach ancient diet is an underdeveloped method. By analyzing the shape, size and use-wear of a corpus of Mochica ceramics from Huacas de Moche site (north coast of Peru, 100-850 AD) we have been able to recreate their ...

Le recyclage au Paléolithique moyen. Des bifaces et des nucléus utilisés comme percuteurs
The reuse of lithic artefacts and of material deriving from their manufacture from the Middle Palaeolithic onwards is a phenomenon that has been noted since the 1960s. Here we pursue the hypothesis that bifaces and cores were reused by Neanderthal people

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Individual Control of Risk: Seat Belt Use, Subjective Norms and the Theory of Reasoned Action [PDF]
When faced with a risk for which an inexpensive solution is available, individuals often choose the risk rather than the solution. Protection from certain kinds of risks, e.g., using seat belts or condoms or insulating against radon, is largely under ...
