The usefulness of social behavior in behavioral pharmacology
Drug Development Research, 1987AbstractThis paper surveys the possibility and importance of studying social behavior of rats in pharmacology. Social behavior of rats tested in dyadic encounters can be used for studying experimentally induced changes in this behavior. Different exogenous factors like administering psychopharmacological agents or changes in the test environment can ...

Using Love in Behavior Therapy
Psychiatric Services, 1970IN THE MAY 1970 issue of Hospital #{232}’ Community Psychiatry, Robert G. Lane, Ph.D., and Richard P. AbstractSeeking integration of drug consumption research by a theory of memory function and emphasizing drug consumption rather than addiction, Müller & Schumann (M&S) treat drug self-administration as part of a general pattern of consumption. This insight is located within a more comprehensive framework for understanding drug use as consumer ...

Indicator pastes: Their behavior and use
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1979Indicator pastes were subjected to a laboratory investigation and a clinical trail. The tests showed: 1. An increase in temperature increased the rate of flow of the pastes. 2. An increase in applied pressure increased the rate of the flow of the pastes. 3. Pastes containing a small percentage of filler were compressed to a smaller thickness than those

Evolution of Tool Use Behavior
2007 IEEE Symposium on Artificial Life, 2007This paper focuses on the capability of artificial evolution to produce tool use behaviors of different complexity in simulated robotic agents and in the absence of learning or other lifetime methods. The results show by example that tool use behaviors of different complexity can evolve and do not necessarily rely on reasoning ...

Scheduling using behavioral templates
Proceedings of the 32nd ACM/IEEE conference on Design automation conference - DAC '95, 1995This paper presents the idea of "behavioral templates" in scheduling. A behavioral template locks several operations into a relative schedule with respect to one another. This simple construct proves powerful in addressing: (1) timing constraints, (2) sequential operation modeling, (3) pre-chaining of certain operations, and (4) hierarchical scheduling.

Drug Intelligence & Clinical Pharmacy, 1982
Evaluations of drug use behavior can be described as an emerging activity. There are a variety of stakeholders, a number of different activities, and a multitude of purposes for which evaluations have utility. A tentative codification of drug use evaluations is offered that takes into account stakeholders, activities, and purposes.

The uses of hypnosis in behavior therapy
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 1973Abstract Hypnosis has an important, though not indispensable, role in the practice of behavior therapy. When properly used, it can add leverage to treatment and shorten treatment time. The basic approach to the patient is described, and various hypnotic techniques discussed.

Improving Eating Behaviors in Dementia Using Behavioral Strategies
Clinical Nursing Research, 1997The purpose of this experimental pilot study was to determine the short- and long-term efficacy of directed verbal prompts and positive reinforcement on the level of eating independence (LEI) of elderly nursing home patients with dementia. Twenty-four subjects from a dementia unit were randomly selected and randomly assigned to three experimental ...

Behavior recognition and anomaly behavior detection using clustering
6th International Symposium on Telecommunications (IST), 2012In this paper we propose an approach for behavior modeling and detection of certain types of anomalous behavior. This approach consists of three basic parts. First, we propose busy-idle rates, as the behavior features, to define a behavior model for a block of pixels.
