Natural Aging of Biomaterials in Ambient and Physiological Environments
Biomaterials used in biomedical applications can change their physical properties over time, even under ambient and physiological conditions. This review highlights key studies on the natural aging of materials ranging from soft hydrogels to metals and ceramics, emphasizing how time‐dependent changes influence function and performance.

The phase shift of an ultrasonic pulse at an oil layer and determination of film thickness [PDF]
An ultrasonic pulse incident on a lubricating oil film in a machine element will be partially reflected and partially transmitted. The proportion of the wave amplitude reflected, termed the reflection coefficient, depends on the film thickness and the ...

Optimized potential of rCB via DOE: recovered carbon black from end‐of‐life tires was assessed as a full substitute for conventional carbon black in IIR composites. DOE and response surface methodology optimized rCB loading, plasticizer, and sulfur contents. Hardness showed linear trends, while rupture energy was nonlinear.

Used lubricating oils recycling using solvent extraction
Huge amounts of used lubricating oils from automotive sources are disposed of as a harmful waste into the environment. For this reason, means to recover and reuse these wastes need to be found. Valuable lubricant could be recovered from disposed oil. More importantly, oil may be the most important factor to influence the shape of society in the 21st ...

Sustainable levulinic acid production from inulin via hydrothermal conversion
Abstract This study investigates the hydrothermal conversion of inulin using potassium pyrosulfate to levulinic acid (LA). The Box–Behnken design approach was applied to optimize the conversion parameters and analyze the interactions influencing LA yield.
