A User-Driven Approach to Determining Critical Earth Observation Priorities for Societal Benefit
In order to help data providers make informed decisions regarding the availability and accessibility of Earth observations for societal benefit, a cross-sectoral meta-analysis of observation priorities was conducted from the perspective of users. The analysis was organized around the Group on Earth Observations' (GEOs) societal benefit areas (SBAs ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

User behaviour-driven group formation through case-based reasoning and clustering [PDF]
Group formation for collaborative learning activities is a complex and time consuming task. Different criteria have been proposed for grouping learners in computer-based systems, such as performance and social characteristics. User behaviour is, however,

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Evolution of User Driven Innovation
The source and driver of user driven innovation is a profound understanding of customer needs. Three main approaches to user driven innovation exist: a traditional sequential approach, a lead user approach and customer co-creation.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Modelling viewpoints in user generated content [PDF]
The Web 2.0 infrastructure allowed for a tremendous technological growth in the ways that information is distributed and exchanged among individuals. Web sites transformed to hosts of an abundance of user generated content in various domains comprising ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Extending the Model Driven Architecture with a preCIM level
Whilst the successful alignment of business strategy and IT development is an important topic, there are still few ways that this is possible. The Model Driven Architecture (MDA) shows promise as an approach but is focussed firmly in the IT domain at ...
