Comfort in the canopy: How urban treescapes affect human thermal comfort in a temperate climate
Abstract People living in urban centres are exposed to higher levels of heat stress than those living outside of these areas; this is intensified by the urban heat island effect. Heat stress is a concern for the more vulnerable members of society and can exacerbate many medical conditions; excessive heat increases morbidity and mortality rates.

CMIP6 models informed summer human thermal discomfort conditions in Indian regional hotspot
The frequency and intensity of extreme thermal stress conditions during summer are expected to increase due to climate change. This study examines sixteen models from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) that have been bias-adjusted ...

UCanWBGT: urban street canyon heat stress calculation for weather and climate models
This work introduces UCanWBGT, a new model to calculate wet‐bulb globe temperature in an urban environment, suitable for use with weather and climate model data. We present the model, then verify its performance against observations made in the streets of Paris during heatwave conditions.

ABSTRACT European urban climate change research lacks integration across scales, geography, and climate challenges, despite Europe's coordinated policy frameworks. Through a hybrid bibliometric and systematic review of 1528 studies (2010–2025) using Cortext Manager and PRISMA 2020 guidelines, this study maps the conceptual patterns, knowledge gaps, and

A Climatology of Heatwaves Over Greece for the Period 1960–2022
This research examines the spatiotemporal evolution of heatwaves in Greece from 1960 to 2022, utilising a long timeseries of homogenised high‐quality data with broad spatial coverage. It focuses on identifying heatwaves using verified definitions, introducing spatial and intensity classifications to understand their diverse regional variations ...

Winter UTCI variability in Poland in the 21st century
The study analyses spatial and temporal variability of the UTCI index during winter seasons in Poland in the 21st century. The most frequent UTCI thermal stress category was moderate cold stress with a frequency varying from 45.8% in Łeba (Coastal region)
