Calumenin, A Calcium‐Binding Modulatory Protein, Effective in Pathological Calcifications and Cancers, With Therapeutic Application Promise

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2025.
Calumenin (CALU) is effective in calcium homeostasis, involved in various cellular processes, ER‐related functions, normal calcification processes, pathological calcium deposits, inflammatory diseases, and cancers. Additionally, it has been linked to cancer by controlling the γ‐carboxylation of vitamin K‐dependent proteins linked to cancer.

Long‐term outcomes of fertility‐sparing treatment in endometrial carcinoma and endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia: Recurrence risk factors over a 9‐year follow‐up

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 104, Issue 10, Page 1994-2005, October 2025.
Fertility‐sparing treatment demonstrated a 62.5% recurrence rate at 10 years. Recurrence was more likely in patients initially treated with megestrol acetate or those with a family history of cancer. As most patients lacked high‐risk molecular features, conservative treatment may remain a safe option for selected individuals under close long‐term ...

Deep Phenotyping of Pathology‐Confirmed Benign Lesions in PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome Patients

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 108, Issue 4, Page 400-411, October 2025.
Gastrointestinal, skin, thyroid, and vascular lesions are frequently present in PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome patients with little to no difference between sexes or by index status. Early‐onset lipomas (< 20 years) may be useful for early recognition of patients, and uterine polyps should be considered for inclusion as a PHTS‐related lesion.

Collagenous colitis in patients treated for cancer: role of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Clinical, histological and immunological features in 15 cases

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 87, Issue 4, Page 514-525, October 2025.
Immune checkpoint inhibitor‐associated collagenous colitis exhibits distinct histopathological and immunophenotypic features compared to idiopathic cases, including prominent sub‐epithelial macrophage accumulation and neutrophilic cryptitis. These findings underscore the pathogenic impact of PD1/PD‐L1 axis blockade on colonic mucosa and expand the ...
