The effect of temporary uterine artery ligation on blood loss during laparoscopic myomectomy: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 5, Page 795-804, May 2026.
This meta‐analysis evaluates whether temporary uterine artery ligation (TUAL) reduces intraoperative estimated blood loss during laparoscopic myomectomy (LM). Data from seven comparative studies were analyzed to evaluate their hemostatic efficacy, surgical impact, and suitability for wider clinical use.

A Mathematical Model of the Growth of Uterine Myomas [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2014
Uterine myomas or fibroids are common, benign smooth muscle tumours that can grow to 10  cm or more in diameter and are routinely removed surgically. They are typically slow- growing, well-vascularised, spherical tumours that, on a macro-scale, are a structurally uniform, hard elastic material.
